Each year, The Washington Market School participates in the City Harvest Food Drive. As one of New York City's largest food rescue organizations, City Harvest helps to feed nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers. This year, WMS successfully filled 19 boxes of canned goods to help those struggle to put meals on their tables. We are so grateful to our community for your donations.
Participating in the food drive gives us the opportunity to think about how we can contribute to our community, why sharing is important, and what it means to help others. Britt Hawthorne’s 4-part framework teaches us that by acting justly and providing for those who do not have food as readily accessible to them, will help our young learners develop an understanding of fairness, (having what you need to work, live and play). Thank you for your support!
