Street Fair 2023

The Washington Market School annual Street Fair held on June 3, 2023, was a resounding success, attracting over 1,000 attendees. The event brought together current families, alumni, and community members in a lively celebration of the school and its spirit.

The fair offered a wide array of exciting activities and attractions for people of all ages. Coordinated by dedicated parent volunteers, the fair featured 11 activity tables, one per classroom, providing interactive experiences that kept children entertained and involved. 

From a magic show that left both children and adults spellbound, to the whimsical presence of a wandering unicorn, the fair was filled with surprises. The mesmerizing bubble show created a magical ambiance with shimmering bubbles floating through the air. Attendees were invited to sing along to the lively beats and melodious tunes of a music performance by our talented music teacher Evan. The fair also delighted younger attendees with a captivating puppet show, engaging them with imaginative storytelling and colorful characters. 

 

 

For those seeking excitement, a bouncy house provided endless fun, while a special visit from the local fire station allowed attendees to interact with firefighters and sit in a fire truck! Pony rides added to the joy and wonder of the fair, giving children the chance to experience the thrill of riding and petting a pony.

 

 

Overall, the annual school street fair provided an unforgettable day of entertainment and engagement. With a wide range of activities and performances, the fair catered to the interests and enjoyment of all attendees. It successfully brought together our Tribeca neighborhood, fostering a sense of togetherness and celebration. With over 2,000 food tickets sold, and the generous contributions of local businesses, the fair showcased the school's vibrant spirit and commitment to creating memorable experiences for our community.
