Small Works 34
The Washington Market School's 2025 Art Show
The Washington Market School’s annual Small Works art show is a celebration of our young learners' creativity and imagination. Each year, the transformation of the lower level at our Hudson Street site is breathtakingly beautiful and, after 34 years, never fails to be unique.
At Small Works 34, students, current and prospective families, faculty, and educators from across New York City gathered to experience the wonder of 15 exhibitions. Every display reflected the curiosity and joy of our learners, as well as the dedication and thoughtfulness of their teachers. The distinctiveness of each classroom's installation is tailored to the interests of their respective students. Many exhibits allow attendees to actively engage with the learning process. From famous New York City buildings, to boats, flying paper, original music and more, everyone who attended the Art Show had the opportunity to get a flavor for the dynamic process by which children at The Washington Market School experience meaning-making through art.
Stina and Kate, WMS art teachers, let the children's imaginations guide the process in the art studio at WMS, and that is at the heart of what makes Small Works so unique.
