Admissions Process

Submit an application for your child for the 2025-26 School Year.

Application Deadline: January 9, 2025*

*Although the 2025-26 application deadline has passed, WMS will accept applications for consideration on a rolling basis should space become available. To inquire about availability, please contact the admissions office.

Please note: There is a $50 non-refundable application fee. The fee is waived for families applying for tuition assistance. Please contact admissions@wms-nyc.org with any questions.

In the application, you will indicate your family’s session preference (morning, afternoon, or full-day, depending on your child’s age). You can learn more about our sessions on our Programs Page.

Please note that the vast majority of our new 2s & 3s families who choose a half-day session will join us for their first year in our afternoon session. 

Sibling and Legacy Applicants: Upon submitting an application, you will be contacted with next steps in the admissions process for connected families. Sibling/Legacy Families are eligible for Early Notification. Any Sibling/Legacy applications submitted after November 27 will be considered with our General Application pool.

Tuition Assistance: As a nonprofit organization, we value all forms of diversity in our community. Every year, we raise and award funds for our Tuition Assistance Program. Families apply for Tuition Assistance via Clarity Financial Aid. 

Age Requirements for 2025-26 School Year:

• 2s: Your child must be 2 years old by November 30th*, 2025.
• 3s-5s: Your child must be 3 years old by September 15th, 2025.

*Please note that children turning 2 between September 15 and November 30 who are accepted to the ‘Fall-In 2s’ Program will join the classroom once they have turned 2, with tuition prorated based on their start date.

After you submit an application, you will be prompted to schedule your School Visit.

The School Visit, for parents/guardians only, will last approximately one hour and consists of a site tour, a classroom observation, and a discussion with fellow applicant parents and members of The Washington Market School Enrollment and Leadership Teams.

The enrollment team will host a number of virtual information sessions during the admissions season; no application is required to attend. Click here to register.
